Job summary

PetVet Care Centers’ Sturgis Hospital is seeking a Mixed Animal Veterinarian to treat equine and small animals in a well-equipped facility in the Black Hills region of South Dakota. Join three experienced DVMs, including a board-certified equine surgeon, with strong mentorship for new graduates and a collaborative team focused on high-quality care.

You will work with a modern facility offering ultrasound, IDEXX in-house lab, radiology, and a supportive culture of care.

Qualifications

• DVM or VMD degree from an accredited college or university.
• Current State Veterinary License required.
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained.
• 1+ year(s) of veterinary practice experience.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills; excellent surgical and dental skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient exams and medical workups.
• Communicate effectively with clients and educate on care plans.
• Perform diagnostic procedures and surgeries as needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records and comply with protocols.
• Promote teamwork and efficient hospital operations.
• Assist Hospital Manager with weekly priorities and performance.
