Job summary

Insurcomm Restoration | Fortify Companies in Foxborough, MA is seeking a Mitigation Technician to provide emergency restoration services for fire, water, mold, sewer, and storm damage. You will stabilize properties, prevent further damage, and deliver professional service during stressful times.

This field-based, full-time role requires IICRC readiness, physical stamina, strong communication, and the ability to work with project managers, crews, and clients, all while keeping safety and quality

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain IICRC Certification
• Proficiency with hand and power tools
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor
• Strong communication and customer service mindset
• Ability to navigate MS Teams and onsite documentation
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude
• Must wear PPE including respirator

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency mitigation calls and assess damage from fire, water, mold and weather events
• Perform water extraction, structural drying, and mitigation per IICRC standards
• Remove damaged materials safely and efficiently
• Decontaminate, clean, and deodorize affected spaces
• Collaborate with Contents Division to pack and store salvageable items
• Document job progress with photos and notes using PSA and other software
• Communicate clearly with clients with empathy and respect
• Maintain a clean, safe job site at all times
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment correctly
• Complete onsite documentation using smartphone and industry software
• Work with project managers, crew chiefs and teammates

About the Job

As a Mitigation Technician, you will provide emergency restoration services for families and businesses affected by fire, water, mold, sewer, and storm damage. You are on the front lines of recovery—stabilizing properties, preventing further damage, and delivering professional, compassionate service during stressful situations.

What You'll Do

• Respond to emergency mitigation calls and assess property damage caused by fire, water, mold, and weather-related events
• Perform water extraction, structural drying, and mitigation services in accordance with IICRC standards
• Remove and dispose of damaged building materials safely and efficiently
• Decontaminate, clean, and deodorize affected interior spaces
• Collaborate with the Contents Division to clean, pack, and store salvageable items
• Document job progress through photos and detailed notes using PSA and other required software
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, answering questions with empathy and respect
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times
• Properly set up, operate, clean, and store tools and equipment
• Follow warehouse and vehicle protocols, including daily documentation of consumables and equipment use
• Work effectively and collaboratively with project managers, crew chiefs, and team members

What You'll Bring

Required

• Willingness to obtain IICRC (Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification)
• Proficiency with hand and power tools
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor in varying environments
• Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
• Strong social awareness and customer service mindset
• Acceptable driving record
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to navigate Microsoft Teams and complete onsite documentation using a smartphone and industry software (Proven Jobs, Encircle, Docusketch)
• Team-oriented mindset with a positive, solution-focused attitude
• Must be able to safely wear and work in required personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator, as an essential function of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Preferred

• WRT (Water Damage Restoration) certification
• Prior experience in restoration, construction, or related field
• Experience with PSA or similar job management platforms
