Job summary

SERVPRO Team Toft is seeking a Mitigation Technician to join our emergency-response team in Hartford, CT. You will respond to water, fire, mold, storm, and other property-damage emergencies, performing water extraction, demolition, cleaning, and restoration services.

We provide paid training, on-the-job certifications, a supportive team, and opportunities for advancement. This role requires a valid driver's license, flexibility for on-call shifts, and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work rotating on‑call shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Construction, restoration, demolition, or general labor experience is preferred but not required.
• IICRC certifications are a plus (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to water, fire, mold, storm, and other property damage emergencies.
• Perform water extraction, demolition, debris removal, cleaning, and restoration services.
• Set up, monitor, and maintain drying and restoration equipment.
• Document job progress using company software and mobile technology.
• Load, maintain, and organize company vehicles, equipment, and materials.
• Communicate professionally with customers, teammates, and management.
• Follow all SERVPRO procedures and safety standards.
• Participate in rotating on‑call schedules for emergency response.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
• Work in confined spaces such as crawl spaces, attics, and basements.
• Safely climb ladders and work at varying heights.
• Work indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
• Perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators when necessary.
• Safely operate company vehicles, equipment, and restoration tools.
