Job summary
Insurcomm Restoration, part of Fortify Companies, seeks a Mitigation Technician to deliver emergency restoration services responding to fire, water, mold, and storm damage. You stabilize properties, prevent further damage, and provide professional, compassionate service during stressful situations.

Qualifications
- Willingness to obtain IICRC (Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification).
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor in varying environments.
- Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong social awareness and customer service mindset.
- Acceptable driving record.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to navigate Microsoft Teams and complete onsite documentation using a smartphone and industry software (Proven Jobs, Encircle, Docusketch).
- Team-oriented mindset with a positive, solution-focused attitude.
- Must be able to safely wear and work in required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency mitigation calls and assess property damage caused by fire, water, mold, and weather-related events.
- Perform water extraction, structural drying, and mitigation services per IICRC standards.
- Remove and dispose of damaged building materials safely and efficiently.
- Decontaminate, clean, and deodorize affected interior spaces.
- Collaborate with the Contents Division to clean, pack, and store salvageable items.
- Document job progress through photos and notes using PSA and other required software.
- Communicate clearly with clients with empathy and respect.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times.
- Set up, operate, clean, and store tools and equipment.
- Follow warehouse and vehicle protocols, including daily documentation of consumables and equipment use.
- Work with project managers, crew chiefs, and team members.

As a Mitigation Technician, you will provide emergency restoration services for families and businesses affected by fire, water, mold, sewer, and storm damage. You are on the front lines of recovery—stabilizing properties, preventing further damage, and delivering professional, compassionate service during stressful situations.

- WRT (Water Damage Restoration) certification
- Prior experience in restoration, construction, or related field
- Experience with PSA or similar job management platforms
