Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a Mission Systems Engineer II to lead hands-on integration of avionics, sensors, and mission payloads on the V-BAT and future aircraft. You will bridge hardware and software, perform system bring-up, and enable real-time troubleshooting in lab and field.

Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, software, and flight test teams; use Python or MATLAB to analyze logs, drive tests, and iteratively mature capabilities to production-ready state. Requires a B.S.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field.
• 2-5 years engineering experience with electrical system design, integration, testing, debug, and repair.
• Hands-on experience with test equipment, schematics, harness/wiring diagrams, and HW/SW debugging.
• Experience working on multidisciplinary hardware development projects; ownership mentality and strong teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Support design, integration, and validation of avionics and mission sensors for V-BAT from concept to production and deployment.
• Collaborate with operators, mission SMEs, and internal stakeholders to understand user needs and prioritize features.
• Drive 0→1 development: propose solutions, prototype quickly, iterate with flight test data, and mature systems for production.
