Job summary

MBL Technologies is seeking a Mission Synchronization – Action Officer to support modernization, cybersecurity protection, and mission synchronization within a complex defense environment. MBL Technologies is seeking a Mission Synchronization – Action Officer to support senior-level modernization, cybersecurity protection, and mission synchronization efforts within a complex defense environment.

The Action Officer is a core member of the mission team responsible for preparing senior leaders for key leadership forums and driving the day-to-day coordination, logistics, materials, task management, and follow-through necessary to achieve mission outcomes.

This is a highly hands-on and responsive role requiring close coordination with senior leaders, program offices, cybersecurity and technical teams, acquisition stakeholders, and other defense organizations. The Action Officer will support senior‑leadership engagements and cybersecurity mitigation implementation efforts by coordinating meetings and events, managing staff actions, developing briefing materials and read-a heads, documenting decisions, tracking requirements, and ensuring actions are routed to the appropriate teams for execution.

The successful candidate will combine strong project and task‑management discipline with a foundational understanding of cybersecurity and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, classified environment.

Work Location: Hybrid — Onsite 3–5 days per week in Crystal City, Virginia

Security Clearance: Active Secret security clearance required to begin work; must be eligible for TS/SCI access.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate cross-organizational and inter-organizational activities supporting cybersecurity mitigation, modernization, and mission priorities.
  • Manage scheduling, classified meeting logistics, staff taskers, action items, and following up activities associated with senior‑leadership engagements.
  • Develop and coordinate read‑ahead materials, briefing packages, meeting materials, agendas, decision documentation, and other staff products.
  • Coordinate day‑to‑day engagements with defense program offices, NSA, senior staff organizations, technical teams, and other mission stakeholders.
  • Support site‑coordination activities by scheduling cybersecurity mitigation events, working groups, executive briefings, exercises, and site visits.
  • Coordinate operational venues, classified meeting requirements, participants, materials, and other logistical needs for mission events.
  • Facilitate meetings and working sessions and ensure decisions, requirements, risks, and action items are accurately documented and tracked through completion.
  • Capture cybersecurity risks, program risks, decisions, dependencies, and requirements identified through senior meetings and staff engagements.
  • Route requirements and action items to the appropriate automation, engineering, cybersecurity, or other technical workstreams for execution.
  • Track progress against assigned actions, identify potential delays or blockers, and elevate issues requiring leadership attention.
  • Translate senior‑leader direction and stakeholder requirements into clear, actionable tasks for technical and program teams.
  • Support requirements gathering, risk identification, prioritization, and mission synchronization across multiple workstreams.
  • Pre‑brief senior leaders and, based on experience and performance, facilitate small‑group meetings and coordination forums.
  • Maintain responsiveness to client requests, staff taskers, emerging requirements, and shifting mission priorities.
Required Experience Skills & Qualifications
  • Baseline cybersecurity knowledge at approximately the CompTIA Security+ level or equivalent, with the ability to understand cybersecurity vulnerabilities, mitigations, risks, controls, and related technical concepts.
  • Strong project, task, and action‑management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple high‑priority workstreams simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and techniques and their application to project or mission execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop concise, accurate materials for senior‑level audiences.
  • Experience interfacing directly with clients, senior leadership, program offices, technical teams, and stakeholders across multiple organizations.
  • Experience coordinating meetings, working groups, executive engagements, or other activities involving multiple organizations and senior stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with initiative strategy, requirements gathering, risk identification, action tracking, and translating requirements into executable tasks for technical teams.
  • Familiarity with defense leadership structures, organizational culture, classified meeting logistics, and staff processes.
  • Ability to work hands‑on in a fast‑paced client environment and respond effectively to staff taskers, changing priorities, and emerging requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in managing schedules, deliverables, meeting materials, decisions, and follow‑up actions.
  • Relevant DoD 8140‑aligned cybersecurity certification, such as CISSP, or another certification appropriate to the position.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Active Secret security clearance required to begin work; must be eligible for TS/SCI access.
