Job summary

York Space Systems seeks multiple Software Systems Engineers to manage requirements, design, planning, and coordination for software solutions across York programs. You will partner with program managers and mission leads to deliver simulations, ground software, flight software, and site reliability services.

The role emphasizes driving software architecture, verification, and collaboration across software teams, ensuring high-quality deliverables for mission readiness and customer programs.

Qualifications

• BS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Build deep understanding of mission objectives, scope, milestones, risks, schedules, and system needs to guide delivery of mission-critical software.
• Collaborate with program managers and lead systems engineers to align software with flight software, payloads, and external partners.
• Lead full lifecycle of mission software from architecture to deployment and on-orbit operations support.
• Create UML artifacts (use cases, diagrams, interfaces, architecture views) to drive design clarity.
• Present software design decisions and progress to internal and external stakeholders.
• Drive execution on mission milestones, software tests, demos and readiness events.
• Support mission operations with reliable ground software, tools and simulations during rehearsals and missions.
