Job summary

WLG in Norfolk, Virginia is seeking an experienced security professional to lead risk management for staff travel and high‑profile events. You will analyse destinations, gather open‑source intelligence, and deliver tailored security briefings to travellers and teams.

You will develop security plans for high‑risk missions, run risk assessments, coordinate with local authorities and partner agencies, and produce after‑action reports to improve lessons learned.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in security administration, risk management, or industrial security, with high-profile events experience.
• At least three years planning security for major events with VIPs or international operations.
• Certified in risk management (PMP or RM) or similar credential.
• Ability to collect and interpret security data from open sources into briefings and reports.
• Experience coordinating with senior leadership, law enforcement and partners.
• Strong office tools and open-source research skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyse travel database to identify high-risk destinations.
• Collect and analyse security information from open sources and advisories.
• Provide travellers comprehensive security briefings tailored to missions.
• Develop security plans for high-risk events and missions.
• Run regular risk assessments and site surveys for venues.
• Evaluate attendee lists for potential risks and non-members.
• Prepare security briefs for senior approval and oversee events.
• Coordinate security with authorities and partner agencies.
• Write after-action reports and extract lessons learned.
• Brief internal stakeholders on security requirements and priorities.
