Job summary

Akima Mission Optimization (AMO) is seeking an Engineering Technician III to perform advanced maintenance, diagnostics, and PMCS on US Military Utility Task Vehicles to keep them mission-capable. You will interpret engineering drawings, execute corrective actions, and document activities in maintenance logs.

The role requires DoD Secret clearance (interim OK), 3+ years of relevant experience, and the ability to work independently with safety and quality in mind.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance preferred; interim acceptable until adjudicated.
• High School diploma or GED with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong PMCS experience on US Military Tactical or Utility Vehicles.
• Ability to perform systematic diagnostic troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with maintenance publications and reporting systems.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Capable of independent work and prioritization with accurate documentation.
• Solid understanding of safety standards and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed PMCS on US Military UTVs to detect wear or deficiencies.
• Perform advanced diagnostics on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and driveline systems.
• Execute corrective maintenance and component replacement to restore readiness.
• Document inspections and parts usage in maintenance logs and systems.
• Advise supervisors on vehicle status and resource needs affecting readiness.
• Interpret drawings and schematics to support troubleshooting and repair.
• Mentor junior technicians on PMCS procedures and safety practices.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintenance procedures.
• Coordinate with supply personnel to identify parts and track readiness.
• Support fielding, upgrades, and configuration changes to UTV platforms.
