Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking an experienced Test Engineer to thoroughly test, repair, and maintain hardware for U.S. Air Force applications.

You will collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to troubleshoot custom electronics and ensure mission readiness, documenting faults and proposing improvements. You will handle lab diagnostics, perform SMT soldering, and assist with depot-level repairs, while ensuring compliance with safety standards and procedures.

Qualifications

Experience with troubleshooting.
Soldering surface mount components on PCBs and wires.
Experience with equipment and cable repair.
Experience with small tools and lab diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, or TDRs.
Knowledge of basic electrical, mechanical, and electronic principles.
Knowledge of lab processes and safety awareness.
Ability to follow established procedures.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, assembly drawings, and test procedures.
Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
HS diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

Test and repair hardware, working with electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure mission-ready equipment.
Use lab diagnostic equipment to diagnose and maintain vital electronics for US Air Force systems.
Maintain fault logs and contribute ideas for improvements.
Perform component-level repairs to keep hardware in mission-ready state.
Assist with inspections and depot-level repairs following established processes.
Trace faults with lab tools and document findings; solder and repair cables as needed.
