Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Staff Mission Planning Engineer in Melbourne, FL. The role sits on-site with a 9/80 schedule and no hybrid/remote work.

You will join an interdisciplinary team to develop a mission planning subsystem, defining architectures, requirements, interfaces, and testing with key suppliers. The position requires strong systems engineering, requirements management, and supplier coordination experience, plus an active Secret clearance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) from an accredited university with 12+ years of related experience OR Master’s in STEM with 10+ years OR Ph.D. in STEM with 8+ years.
  • Experience with system modeling and requirements management tools (Cameo, DOORS).
  • Familiar with Software Development/Management and Software Factories.
  • Experience in supplier/subcontract management.
  • Experience developing supplier documentation and statements of work.
  • Experience with evaluating supplier performance and conducting technical evaluations.
  • Active US Government Secret Clearance or eligibility; ability to obtain SAP clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Support development and integration of mission planning subsystems to meet program objectives.
  • Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specs.
  • Perform performance and functional analyses.
  • Conduct risk analysis and mitigation.
  • Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders.
  • Maintain supplier documentation and statements of work.
  • Provide technical leadership with partners and suppliers.
  • Review supplier design documents and support design reviews.
  • Plan and execute testing of subsystem requirements in lab.
