Job summary

Axiom Space is seeking an experienced Mission Operations Engineer to help design and execute next-generation human spaceflight operations. You will develop mission operations concepts, tools, and training systems while also serving as a certified flight controller for real-time operations.

Candidate will define operations approaches, participate in simulations and rehearsals, and monitor spacecraft systems to ensure on-time mission timelines within a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field, or 2+ years of experience.
• Track record in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
• Good judgement to solve problems that impact hard challenges.
• Ability to progress and complete flight-controller certification.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement concepts of operations, procedures, tools, and console products.
• Develop integration products (interfaces, timelines, test plans, operational documentation).
• Contribute to mission control systems, training environments, and operational infrastructure.
• Develop and execute training plans and certification flows for flight controllers and astronauts.
• Support simulations, mission rehearsals, and readiness activities.
• Contribute to definition of flight rules, procedures, and readiness activities.
• Serve as a certified flight controller supporting real-time operations.
• Monitor spacecraft systems, respond to anomalies, and execute mission timelines.
• Document anomalies, lessons learned, and operations improvements.
