Job summary

SEAKR Engineering in Colorado Springs seeks a Mission Operations Engineer to ensure On-Orbit satellite programs meet objectives by applying knowledge of satellite systems, payloads and operations.

The role supports integration and testing of payload missions, with exposure to CONOPS, electrical, software and test disciplines in aerospace. DoD clearance is valued and a strong background in operations is required.

Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance and hold it.
  • Minimum: Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
  • 0-3 years in an engineering role.
  • Experience in a Mission Operations Center or Satellite Operations Center is desirable.
  • Experience with modeling & simulation environments (e.g., STK, AFSIM) is desirable.
  • Active DoD Secret or Top Secret Clearance is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Execute technical tasks based on program priorities and action items.
  • Support satellite passes in Payload Operations Center (POC).
  • Lead daily standup in support of MO lead tasking.
  • Run Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) and support testing.
  • Contribute to the satellite pass contact plan.

Job Description

The Mission Operation (MO) Engineer ensures On-Orbit satellite programs meet mission objectives by utilizing detailed knowledge of satellite systems, payloads, and operations. The Mission Operations Engineer is key in supporting the integration and test of payload missions. A successful candidate will have a broad understanding of space Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) and related disciplines including electrical, software, and test in the aerospace industry.

Mission Operation Engineers will work under the supervision of Systems Engineering and/or MO leads on a satellite vehicle program. In close proximity with both engineering teams and program management the MO Engineer will support or take responsibility for mission requirements management, system modelling, system simulation, operational documentation, on-orbit procedure development, planning, lab integration and formal test of payload systems at On-orbit. A successful MO Engineer should be able to lead vehicle operations and execution of mission operations procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Additional Information

Compensation: Base salary range is $80,000-95,000, depending on qualifications. SEAKR has very rich medical, dental and vision insurance plans, along with a generous 401(k) retirement plan. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for a year-end bonus. SEAKR offers a variety of paid leave, such as vacation, sick, bereavement, and FMLA.
