Job Summary

We are seeking a Mission Interface / Orbital Analyst to support day‑to‑day Poland Space Operations Center (PolSpOC) operations, analyst training, and customer‑facing coordination. This role requires strong space domain awareness (SDA) and orbital mechanics knowledge, paired with the ability to translate technical findings into practical operational guidance. The analyst will help the PolSpOC team assess space object behavior, characterize mission‑relevant events, guide operator actions, and keep tools and procedures aligned to operational needs.

This individual independently applies advanced engineering expertise to solve complex technical challenges, make critical decisions, and influence key engineering outcomes. Serves as a trusted technical authority, representing the organization with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders. Provides expert guidance and mentorship to engineers, while delivering highly respected technical judgment, analysis, and recommendations. Must be a self‑starter!

Primary Duties / Roles / Responsibilities
Operational SDA and Orbital Analysis
  • Provide orbital analysis support using state data, orbital parameters, maneuver indications, and related SDA information.
  • Apply orbital mechanics and astrodynamics expertise to characterize satellite behavior, including maneuvers, perturbations, custody changes, and conjunction events.
  • Identify, characterize, and explain anomalous or tactically relevant space object activity in clear operational terms.
  • Develop concise assessments, briefs, and recommendations to support time‑sensitive operational decisions.
PolSpOC Operations Support
  • Support planning, execution, and post‑event review of PolSpOC operational activities.
  • Guide operators through routine and non‑routine scenarios by applying consistent analytical techniques and operational judgement.
  • Maintain awareness of mission timelines, priorities, constraints, and decision points during operational support windows.
  • Capture operational needs, workflow gaps, and tool deficiencies. Coordinate with KBR software and mission teams to refine requirements
Instruction and Team Enablement
  • Train, mentor, and advise analysts and operators on SDA fundamentals, orbital mechanics concepts, and operational application of KBR tools.
  • Develop or improve job aids, checklists, standard operating procedure (SOP) inputs, lessons learned, and training material that support repeatable operations.
  • Support exercises, tabletop events, and on‑shift coaching to improve operator confidence and consistency.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, mission‑relevant guidance for technical and non‑technical audiences.
Required Qualifications
  • 7‑10 years professional experience in orbital analysis, space domain awareness, space operations, astrodynamics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Working knowledge of orbital elements, satellite state solutions, maneuver characterization, perturbation forces, and common space operations data products.
  • Ability to work in an operational environment where analysis must be accurate, defensible, and delivered on mission timelines.
  • Experience briefing, instructing, mentoring, or guiding personnel with varying levels of technical background.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including customer‑facing communication and cross‑team coordination.
  • BS in Engineering or Engineering related field.
  • Ability to work independently in a mostly remote environment during assigned core support hours. In office requirements will be minimal if local to the Colorado Springs area.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting military, civil, allied, commercial, or coalition SSA/SDA operations, including US Space Force (USSF) or Joint Commercial Operations (JCO)-related mission environments.
  • Familiarity with sensor tasking, conjunction assessment, custody maintenance, mission planning workflows, or operational software requirement development.
  • Experience documenting operational procedures, training products, playbooks, or lessons learned.
  • Familiarity with the Polish language.
  • MS in Engineering or Engineering related field; or BS in Aerospace Engineering or related degrees
