Job summary

Indian Health Service invites physicians to deliver patient-centered medical care across acute, chronic, and preventive needs within specialty, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective care and coordinated delivery.

Selected candidates may receive a minimum recruitment/relocation sign-on bonus and will be expected to obtain medical staff clinical privileges. On-call hours and rotating shifts may apply; compliance with E-Verify and a REAL ID is required.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from US/Canada or foreign equivalent with ECFMG or other recognized pathway.
• Active/unrestricted medical license in US territory or DC.
• Board certification preferred for many specialties; promotion potential varies.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert patient-centered medical care including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute, chronic, and preventive health needs within specialty.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, effective, and coordinated care.
• Perform specialty-specific diagnostic, therapeutic, and/or surgical procedures consistent with training and credentialing.
• Contribute to teaching, mentorship, and professional development of medical staff, students, and trainees.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical innovation initiatives to advance healthcare delivery.
