Job summary

Primer in San Francisco is seeking Full Stack Software Engineering Interns for January, May, or June starts. The 4–8 month program builds PrimerOS—the operating system that runs our schools—and ships features used by teachers, students, and families.

Projects span frontend, backend, systems, and even hardware. Interns own meaningful work with mentorship in a small, high-performing team, while enjoying an in‑office culture in the Mission District.

Qualifications

• You have a real passion for fixing the US education system.
• You enjoy rolling up your sleeves and figuring out what needs to happen.
• You have a strong grasp of engineering fundamentals.
• You care about building exceptional software.

Responsibilities

• Work with TypeScript, Node, GraphQL, Prisma, Postgres, Next, React, and Relay.
• Build features used daily by teachers, students, and families.
• Work daily with team members from engineering, product, design, and academic program teams.
• Contribute to a culture of excellence through code reviews and a high bar for quality.
