Job summary

Fantom Corp is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to design and implement cloud-based solutions for mission-driven data collection and processing. The role emphasizes Python development, AWS services, and containerized infrastructure within secure cloud environments.

You will build scalable services, utilize CDK for infrastructure, and collaborate across teams to meet mission requirements while ensuring security and compliance.

Qualifications

• Strong Python development experience and ability to build scalable cloud-based solutions.
• Experience using AWS services (Lambda, S3, EC2, Batch, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, IAM, DynamoDB) and container services.
• Familiarity with AWS CDK for infrastructure as code deployment.
• Experience deploying secure web applications in cloud environments.
• Experience designing or managing OpenSearch or Elasticsearch environments.
• Proficiency in SQL and querying structured/unstructured data.
• Experience with Linux administration and scripting.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and translate mission needs into technical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop cloud-based solutions for data collection and processing to meet mission requirements.
• Develop applications and automation tools using Python and Java.
• Build and integrate services using AWS cloud technologies and container services.
• Utilize AWS CDK to design and deploy infrastructure and application components.
• Develop secure web applications within classified cloud environments.
• Work with OpenSearch to design, manage, and query large data stores.
• Write and optimize queries for structured and unstructured data.
• Develop and maintain Docker containers for scalable deployments.
• Implement Linux-based scripting to support deployment and operations.
• Collaborate with developers to support deployment strategies and infrastructure requirements.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and automate deployments in cloud environments.
• Support security, vulnerability management, and compliance efforts.
• Translate mission needs into technical solutions and communicate with stakeholders.
