Job summary

Nominal is seeking a Summer 2027 Mission Dev internship to work with engineers on complex hardware systems such as reactors, rockets, and aircraft. You will learn customer workflows, identify bottlenecks, and build software to accelerate testing and analysis.

You will gain hands-on experience with data pipelines and high-frequency hardware data, while shipping early, iterating with feedback, and shaping solutions with customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Solid engineering fundamentals and hands-on software development experience.
• On track to graduate Summer 2028 or sooner.
• Experience collaborating with engineers and users to deliver usable software.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customer engineers to understand testing workflows and identify software solutions.
• Design and build integrations and data pipelines connecting Nominal to customers’ systems.
• Own projects from concept through deployment with mentorship from experienced engineers.
• Deploy working software early, learn from user feedback, and iterate quickly.
• Bring learnings back to product/engineering teams to broaden impact.
