Job summary

EEI, an employee‑owned facility and energy consulting firm, is seeking a Mission Critical Electrical Specialist to independently commission, test, and verify building systems in the field, including power distribution, lighting, and controls for data centers.

Ideal candidates hold an engineering degree or proven field commissioning experience in mission‑critical environments, are detail‑oriented, and can work autonomously while collaborating with project teams and clients.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in electrical systems or related technical environment.
• Knowledge of power distribution systems, switchgear, UPS, generators, PDUs, and controls for mission‑critical facilities.
• Understanding of MEP systems and integrated building operations.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, sequences of operation, submittals, and system information.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with project teams.
• Strong organizational, troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and commissioning documentation tools.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. full-time without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning testing and verification activities for electrical systems in mission‑critical facilities and data centers.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems across full-load, no-load, and failure conditions with project teams and stakeholders.
• Produce clear commissioning documentation per project requirements.
• Verify installations against design specs, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as on‑site technical lead, communicating status and findings to clients and teams.
• Contribute to safe, reliable, and high‑quality project execution.
