Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a Data Center Facilities Specialist to operate and maintain the MEP systems that power mission-critical data centers. You will manage cooling plants, UPS and generator systems, switchgear, building controls, and associated infrastructure with a focus on zero unplanned interruptions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years operating or maintaining HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or data center critical-infrastructure systems.
• 2+ years operating or maintaining data center critical infrastructure systems.
• Experience in mission-critical environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to keep data center MEP systems in peak condition and develop SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs.
• Operate, inspect, and repair critical data center infrastructure including chilled-water plants, CRAH/CRAC units, UPS, and generators.
• Work with electrical and controls stakeholders on switchgear, lighting, motors, UPS, and transfer switches.
• Perform daily inspections, verify setpoints, and report deficiencies before outages.
• Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, reassemble, and test pumps, cooling equipment, and other mechanical systems.
• Read and interpret schematics, one-lines, piping diagrams, and manufacturer literature for maintenance and repair.
