Job summary

Brinkmann Constructors is seeking an experienced Mission Critical Commissioning Manager to lead commissioning activities for complex projects, including data centers. You will develop plans, coordinate with owners, design teams, and vendors, and drive testing across mechanical, electrical, controls, and life-safety systems.

The role emphasizes ownership, safety, and mentorship of project teams, with travel as required to support project assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 7+ years in commissioning, mission-critical construction, or facility engineering.
• Experience with large-scale mission-critical projects, including data centers.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, controls, and life-safety systems.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning activities from preconstruction through turnover.
• Develop and manage commissioning plans, schedules, and deliverables.
• Coordinate commissioning with project teams, owners, engineers, contractors, and vendors.
• Participate in design and constructability reviews and project planning.
• Coordinate startup, testing, balancing, and commissioning of MEP and life-safety systems.
• Lead factory witness testing, site acceptance testing, and functional performance testing.
• Verify system performance, sequences, redundancy, and reliability requirements.
• Track issues and drive timely resolutions; manage test reports and turnover packages.
• Monitor progress and communicate status, risks, and milestones to stakeholders.
• Support owner training, operational readiness, and final turnover.
