Job summary

i3 is seeking Software Engineers to join our team in Huntsville, AL. You will design, develop, test, and sustain mission-critical C2 software for warfighters, collaborating with Agile teams to build robust, secure solutions.

You will work across multiple languages (Java, C++) in Linux environments, contribute to SAFe processes, and help deliver integrated software for national defense programs. Applicants must be U.S. citizens with active SECRET clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and at least 1 year of relevant experience for Associate Software Engineer.
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and at least 2 years of relevant experience; Master's degree in STEM with 0 years of experience for Software Engineer.
• Strong object-oriented software development experience with Java and C++.
• Proficiency in Linux-based development and runtime environments.
• Experience with scripting languages and tools including Bash and Python.
• Experience with modern configuration management and source control tools (Git / GitLab).
• Experience with Agile SAFe and Atlassian Agile tools including Jira and Confluence.
• Active Secret Clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance required.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications and software systems that implement logical and mathematical solutions aligned with program objectives.
• Participate in SAFe Scrum teams to develop and maintain software products across multiple baselines for the IBCS program.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with diverse assignments and collaborative team settings.
• Perform software development and upgrades in multiple languages/versions while minimizing changes to operational behavior.
• Support documentation creation and updates using Markdown and other collaboration tools.
• Support testing activities including unit and functional testing, code coverage analysis, and static code analysis; contribute to test automation.
