Job summary

George Consulting seeks an Azure Kubernetes Engineer to design, operate, secure, and modernize containerized workloads across the USMC enterprise. You will manage AKS clusters, implement GitOps, and ensure security and compliance across DoD and enterprise standards.

The role supports full lifecycle operations from architecture design to patching, ensuring platform reliability and mission readiness in a cloud-native environment.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, IT, Engineering, Math, or related field (or equivalent).
• Security+ (IAT II) or equivalent DoD 8570 certification.
• 6–10+ years of Kubernetes/container platforms experience with Azure.
• Experience with AKS management, Helm, GitOps, YAML, ingress, service mesh, and observability.
• Hands-on container security, vulnerability scanning, and hardened baselines.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain AKS clusters for mission applications and enterprise workloads.
• Engineer scalable namespaces, node pools, cluster profiles, network topologies, and upgrades.
• Develop reusable Kubernetes components including Helm charts, operators, and GitOps bundles.
• Evaluate Kubernetes capabilities, CNIs, storage drivers, autoscaling, and service mesh.
• Lead modernization initiatives including architecture refactor and policy tuning.
