Job summary

Rocket Lab seeks a Test and Launch Engineer II – Vehicle to operate consoles in Mission Control during campaigns and launches. You will develop test plans, HMIs, and checklists for vehicle operations, and lead readiness reviews and live-trial simulations.

Requires engineering degree and 2+ years in design/test/operations, with 4+ years substituting for a degree; favorable propulsion/ fluid systems experience; strong data analysis skills and mentoring abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Chemical).
• 2+ years of engineering design, test and/or operations focusing on mechanical, propulsion or fluid systems.
• 4+ years of experience may substitute for a degree.

Responsibilities

• Serve as console operator for vehicle systems during test campaigns and launches.
• Develop and maintain test plans, procedures, and checklists for vehicle operations.
• Improve HMIs for vehicle systems monitoring and control.
• Participate in readiness reviews, simulations, and rehearsals.
• Perform real-time troubleshooting and data analysis during live operations.
• Analyze post-test data to drive continuous improvement.
• Develop, integrate and test mechanical/propulsion systems for Electron and Neutron vehicles.
• Oversee system checkout and propulsion/fluid/hardware assemblies.
• Lead testing projects including static and hot fire tests.
• Mentor operators and author operations procedures for vehicle systems.
