Job summary

Banner Defense, Inc. is seeking a Missile Defense System Architecture Engineer to lead analysis of future MDS architectures and develop M&S tools to support architecture assessment.

You will assess capability gaps against threats, develop analysis plans, run HPC simulations, and produce briefs. A Secret clearance is required with potential TS/SCI; travel may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in STEM field required.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in missile defense or related systems.
• Active Secret clearance required with ability to obtain TS/SCI.
• Strong understanding of current and future MDS architectures.
• Experience with modeling, assessment, and evaluation of MDS architectures, and MATLAB proficiency.

Position Description

Banner Defense is looking for a talented Missile Defense System Architecture Engineer to join our team! In this role you will be involved in leading or participating in analysis of future Missile Defense System (MDS) architectures and concepts, and modeling and simulation (M&S) tool development to support MDS architecture assessment.

Responsibilities

• Assess missile defense system capability gaps, challenges, needs, and opportunities against current and future threats to develop potential architecture solutions that mitigate gaps and/or improve performance
• Assist with the development of analysis plans, execute MDS simulation tools utilizing the DoD High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems, assess analysis results, prepare analysis briefs/reports, and provide reviews of analysis products
• Support modeling & simulation (M&S) efforts related to the above to tailor tools to specific analysis plans
• Travel may be required

Required Skills/Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in STEM field
• 7+ years of experience
• Active Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
• Solid understanding of the current MDS architecture and future concepts
• Experience in modeling, assessment, and evaluation of future missile defense architectures
• Experience with MATLAB

Desired Skills/Experience

• Active TS/SCI Clearance
• Experience with the definition and use of advanced concepts and algorithms for the M&S of MDS architectures
• Experience with M&S and analysis of MDS architectures involving both directed and kinetic energy weapons and other future concepts
• Experience with HPC Systems, Python, and Git is a plus
• Experience with BMD Benchmark
• Experience supporting systems engineering-related architecture design activities
• Ability to perform technology assessment & analysis and provide insight on the utility of potentially useful technologies
• Specialized MDS analysis experience in: threat characterization, trajectories, RF sensing/signatures, and/or EO/IR sensing/signatures
• MBSE experience related to missile defense system architectures
