Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking an IT support technician to assist in installing and maintaining information technology infrastructure at the Morenci copper mining complex. You will support computers, networking gear, Mine Fleet hardware, and access control systems while adhering to safety and environmental programs.

The role requires at least 1 year in mining or related industrial settings, with a basic IT skillset and the ability to work in a demanding environment on site.

Qualifications

• Mining, Manufacturing, Industrial, Operations, Electronics or Instrumentation experience (1 year).
• Demonstrated computational skills.
• High School diploma or GED preferred; Associate degree in IT or related field recommended.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation and support of computers, peripheral equipment, and mobile devices.
• Assist with installation and support of networking technologies, including switches and wireless access points.
• Assist with installation and support of Mine Fleet on-board IT hardware and 2-way radio systems.
• Assist with installation and support of other IT infrastructure (fiber, Ethernet cabling, cameras, field devices, access control).
• Participate in safety and environmental programs.
• Perform other duties as required.

Description Under close supervision assist in the installation, support and maintenance of Information Technology infrastructure, Communications, Mine Fleet and End User Support.

• Assist with installation and support of Mine Fleet on-board IT hardware and 2-way radio systems.
• Assist with installation and support of other IT infrastructure including but not limited to Optical Fiber, Ethernet cabling, Cameras, field devices and Access Control Systems.
• Actively participates in safety and environmental programs and other programs determined by management.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements:

• One Year (1) Experience: Mining, Manufacturing, Industrial, Operations, Electronics, Electrical or Instrumentation.
• Demonstrated computational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• Associates Degree in Information technology or related field
• A+ or Network+ Certification

Criteria/Conditions:

• Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required

• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English

• Work is performed in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
• May be required to work a non-standard schedule which may include shift work (other than day shift) in a 24/7/365 operation
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear, and see
• Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to fifty (50) pounds during the workday

What We Offer You The estimated pay range for this role is currently$24.50 - $33.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
