Job summary

International Friendships, Inc. (IFI) is seeking a Houston Ministry Leader to reach international students by partnering with local churches and university staff, sharing the gospel and building meaningful friendships.

This role requires living near campus, coordinating volunteers, hosting Bible discussions and cultural events, mentoring students, and developing financial and prayer partnerships to sustain the ministry.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ministry, training and mobilization experience required.
• Experience in cross-cultural ministry preferred.
• College degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Launch ministry location by building partnerships with churches and university staff, and hosting Bible discussions and events.
• Mentor at least one international student and share the love of Jesus on campus.
• Register IFI as a recognized student organization and maintain relationships with campus groups.
• Develop and maintain financial and prayer partnerships for the budgeted needs of the role.

Expected Work Schedule For The Houston Ministry Leader

We offer flexible full or part time schedules. Overtime or weekends may be required for specific events as well as attendance at the annual IFI retreat.

Pay Structure For a Houston Ministry Leader

IFI provides training in order to equip the Ministry Leader in personal fundraising. The Ministry Leader will develop a team of partners to cover financial needs such as salary, benefits, ministry expenses, and pray for their ministry. A Ministry Leader can expect a salary of $27,274-$84,872 based on experience and other factors.

About the Area and Responsibilities of a Houston Ministry Leader

There's an amazing opportunity to reach thousands of international students from all over the world with the good news in the Houston, TX area. There are more than 15,000 international students at Rice, the University of Houston, Houston Community College, and others. A Houston Ministry Leader with IFI will work with local churches to serve international students in Houston and share the good news! This position is part of the Houston ministry team and requires the candidate to live near the campus on which they will be serving.

The Houston Ministry Leader Will

• Launch your ministry location by building relationships with university staff, establishing partnerships with churches, mobilizing volunteers, and hosting Bible discussions and holiday and cultural events
• Mentor at least one international student and share the love of Jesus on campus
• Register IFI as a recognized student organization, maintain that registration, and maintain a good relationship with other campus international organizations
• Develop and maintain financial and prayer partnerships for the budgeted needs of the role by sharing the vision of the ministry

Qualifications Needed from the Houston Ministry Leader, including Spiritual Characteristics

The Ministry Leader must adhere to IFI's statement of faith, core values, and policies. The Ministry Leader must be a person of character who faithfully extends God's love globally by mobilizing Christians to effectively communicate the Gospel in the context of various cultures.

Education/Experience For a Houston Ministry Leader

• Demonstrated ministry, training and mobilization experience required
• Experience in cross-cultural ministry, preferred
• College degree preferred
