Job summary

Ausenco is looking for a Mechanical and Layout Technician to join our Minerals & Metals team, available in Tucson or Denver. You will develop 2D and 3D layouts for mining projects using software like SmartPlant and AutoCAD. The role entails coordination across multiple disciplines and budget management.

A successful candidate will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and 4–6 years of related experience. We offer a hybrid work model and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4–6 years in heavy industrial design/layout, preferably in mining or mineral processing.
• Strong CAD/3D modeling skills required for layout development.
• Experience coordinating with multiple engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Produce 2D and 3D mechanical layouts for mining projects.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables related to layout work.
• Review and verify 3D models for compliance with engineering standards.
