Job summary

Ziegler Cat offers an internship program for students pursuing diesel engine mechanics, construction and agricultural equipment. You will work with senior technicians, diagnose and repair equipment in a shop setting, while learning safety-focused, hands-on skills.

Scholarship opportunities and mentorship accompany the program, supporting your development and career path in CAT equipment service. Starting wage for this position is $21.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Be currently enrolled in a 2-year degree program in diesel engine mechanics, construction and/or agricultural equipment mechanics or related study.
• Maintain good grades
• Receive positive recommendations from instructors
• Positive attitude and desire to work as a team player
• Own mechanic tool set
• Ability to maintain safe and clean work environment
• This role is deemed safety-sensitive and will be subject to a drug test as a pre-employment requirement

Responsibilities

• Assist in troubleshooting and repairing heavy diesel engines, construction or agricultural equipment in a shop environment.
• Learn to respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.
• Work with senior technicians to diagnose and repair equipment and learn best practices
