Job summary

Empire Southwest field service technician role involves repairing, reconditioning, and servicing Caterpillar and allied equipment in the field. You will troubleshoot, diagnose, and communicate equipment conditions and recommendations to clients and management.

Prepare equipment for delivery and travel to remote locations as needed. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, DOT licensing as applicable, and English proficiency.

Qualifications

• Must have High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• DOT licensing, medical card, and endorsements as vehicle size dictates.
• Minimum of 6 months related experience.
• Completion of TRAIN test evaluation.
• Must communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and failures.
• Repair, recondition, and maintain equipment and components.
• Prepare service reports.
• Plan and control cost of repair jobs.
• Travel to remote locations as needed.
• Work overtime as needed.
• Provide on-the-job training to technicians and helpers as assigned.
