Job summary

NACCO Industries, Inc. is seeking an Electrician in Mississippi to perform electrical maintenance on mining equipment, ensure MSHA compliance, and install/repair high voltage systems. The role requires reading technical manuals, following national electrical codes, and safely operating high voltage switchgear.

The position involves troubleshooting AC/DC circuits and working shifts in a dusty mine environment. MSHA certification within 1 year is expected. Weekend/holiday work may be required.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret technical manuals and drawings.
• Knowledge of National Electrical Code and MSHA regulations.
• Solid understanding of basic electrical theory.
• Able to safely operate high voltage switchgear.
• Knowledge of PLCs and Variable Frequency Drives.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance on mining equipment per MSHA and company safety rules.
• Inspect in-service mining equipment and record findings in inspection book.
• Maintain and repair low, medium, and high voltage circuits.
• Install/remove power cable from high voltage circuits.
• Troubleshoot AC and DC circuits.
• Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot DC motor and generator circuits on mining equipment.
• Operate mining support equipment and test repaired systems.
• Move about mine site safely and keep work area clean.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
