Description:
The MDS Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the completion, editing, locking, and transmission of all MDS assessments. The primary goal is to ensure timely, accurate completion of the MDS, maximizing case mix and ensuring regulatory compliance. This role supervises the clinical and regulatory components related to reimbursement, coordinates care plan completion with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), and provides clinical support to nursing staff to enhance assessment accuracy, care plans, and quality of care.
Qualifications:
Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensed in Minnesota.
Must have completed or be seeking certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and emergency care for healthcare providers.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, especially when directing the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process and caring for residents.
Must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Must qualify for employment after a criminal background check, in accordance with Minnesota Department of Human Services standards.
Preferred:
Experience in healthcare, skilled nursing facilities, or assisted living communities.
Experience with MDS and Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI).
