Qualifications

• 15+ years in mineral processing, extractive metallurgy, hydrometallurgy, pyrometallurgy, flotation, leaching, refining, smelting, beneficiation, concentrate specification, product qualification, or mine-to-market advisory work.
• Strong experience with copper, chromite, nickel-bearing minerals, rare earths, battery materials, industrial minerals, or other critical minerals.
• Ability to produce crisp written technical judgments for investment, offtake, financing, or governmental decisions.

Responsibilities

• Assess geological, sampling, assay, mineralogical, metallurgical, processing, infrastructure, water, energy, logistics, environmental, and commercial data for project-readiness decisions.
• Identify the testwork pathway to move Oman mineral opportunities toward concentrate or qualified downstream product.
• Evaluate beneficiation, concentration, flotation, leaching, hydrometallurgical, pyrometallurgical, impurity management, tailings, water, energy, and scale-up issues.
• Translate technical findings into concise decision memoranda for U.S. firms, financiers, offtakers, equipment suppliers, insurers, and public-sector stakeholders.
• Support U.S. technology/service-fit analysis without acting as vendor representative or mine operator.
• Identify fatal flaws, no-go conditions, data gaps, and practical next steps for bankable project-preparation packages.

Mineral Processing and Materials Conversion Lead

Axyde Analytics is seeking a senior Mineral Processing and Materials Conversion Lead for a contingent Oman critical-minerals project-preparation effort being developed in response to the U.S. Department of State NEA/AC Regional Annual Program Statement, DFOP0018712.

This is a private Axyde opportunity, not a U.S. Government position. Axyde does not represent the U.S. Government, and no U.S. Government endorsement is implied. Any role, compensation, level of effort, travel, or use in a proposal is contingent on award, final scope, written permission, and separate agreement.

Role focus

The role is less than full time and advisory. We need a senior expert who can help determine whether Oman-origin mineral opportunities can be screened, tested, upgraded, processed, refined, specified, financed, insured, equipped, or offtaken by U.S.-linked companies. The practical workflow is ore-to-concentrate-to-qualified-product.

Representative responsibilities

• Assess whether available geological, sampling, assay, mineralogical, metallurgical, processing, infrastructure, water, energy, logistics, environmental, and commercial data are sufficient for project-readiness decisions.
• Identify the testwork pathway needed to move candidate Oman mineral opportunities from occurrence or resource signal toward concentrate, intermediate, metal, alloy input, industrial feedstock, or other qualified downstream product.
• Evaluate beneficiation, concentration, flotation, leaching, hydrometallurgical, pyrometallurgical, impurity-management, tailings/waste, water, energy, and scale-up issues.
• Translate technical findings into concise decision memoranda for U.S. firms, financiers, offtakers, equipment suppliers, technology providers, insurers, and public-sector stakeholders.
• Support U.S. technology/service-fit analysis without acting as a vendor representative or mine operator.
• Identify fatal flaws, no-go conditions, data gaps, and practical next steps for bankable project-preparation packages.

Desired background

• 15+ years in mineral processing, extractive metallurgy, hydrometallurgy, pyrometallurgy, flotation, leaching, refining, smelting, beneficiation, concentrate specification, product qualification, or mine-to-market technical advisory work.
• Strong experience with copper, chromite, nickel-bearing minerals, rare earths, battery materials, industrial minerals, or other critical/strategic mineral systems.
• Ability to produce crisp written technical judgments for investment, offtake, financing, or government-facing decisions.
• Colorado School of Mines, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Montana Tech, SME, Hatch, Metso, Weir, SGS, ALS, SRK, Ausenco, Fluor, Bechtel, Worley, or comparable technical networks are welcome, but not required.
• U.S.-based candidates are preferred; exceptional regionally experienced candidates may also be considered.

Expected level of effort

This is expected to be a fractional, part-time advisory role during proposal development and, if awarded, during implementation. Initial engagement may involve a short call, CV/current-bio review, role scoping, and written permission before any Phase 1 naming. Later work would be task-based and subject to a separate agreement.
