Pan Mine is seeking a Mine Geologist to join our Technical Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry- to mid-level geologist who is interested in building hands‑on experience in an active open‑pit gold mining environment.

The Mine Geologist provides day-to-day geological support to mining operations, working closely with Mine Operations, Engineering, Exploration, Process, Safety, and Survey. The position is involved in grade control, pit and blasthole mapping, ore routing, reconciliation, geological modeling, and near-mine exploration activities.

What You’ll do
  • Perform pit and blast pattern mapping and interpret geological contacts, structures, alteration, and material types
  • Analyze blasthole assay and geological data to help define ore and waste boundaries, optimize grade, and minimize dilution
  • Support grade control, ore routing, blending, and appropriate leach pad placement
  • Oversee blasthole sampling and assist with established QA/QC and data-quality practices
  • Monitor and document geological conditions within active mining areas
  • Provide geological information to support short- and long-term mine planning
  • Assist with month-end geological and reconciliation reporting
  • Maintain digital geological and pit mapping data and support development of 3D geological models
  • Work with Exploration to identify and evaluate potential near-mine drilling targets
  • Support RC drilling programs, including drill supervision and chip logging, as needed
  • Collaborate with Survey and other site teams to support daily mining activities
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related earth science field
  • Previous open‑pit mining, mine geology, or exploration experience is preferred but not required for a strong entry‑level candidate
  • Exposure to 3D geological or mine planning software is preferred; experience with MineSight, Vulcan, Datamine, Micromine, or similar programs is beneficial
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail and data quality
  • Ability to interpret geological and assay data and communicate findings effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with appropriate direction while contributing effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Willingness to learn, take on increasing responsibility, and work in both office and field environments
  • Strong commitment to safe work practices and mine‑site procedures
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
What We Offer
  • Safety‑focused work environment
  • Competitive compensation
  • Opportunity to grow within a developing Nevada gold operation
  • Team‑oriented culture built on accountability and operational excellence
Work Environment

This position combines office and field work in an active open‑pit mining environment. Field activities may include working in variable weather conditions and around uneven terrain, dust, noise, vibration, and operating mining equipment. The position requires the ability to safely navigate mine areas and wear required personal protective equipment.

Why Join Us

This position offers the opportunity to gain practical experience across multiple areas of mine geology while working directly with experienced technical and operational teams. For an early‑career geologist, the role provides exposure to grade control, geological modeling, production geology, mine planning, reconciliation, and exploration—with opportunities to expand technical knowledge and responsibilities as experience develops.
