Job description

Solidus Resources is a U.S.-based gold development company backed by Waterton Mining. The company is focused on advancing the Spring Valley Gold Project in Pershing County, Nevada, and specializes in taking high potential gold assets through late-stage development and into production. Solidus applies a technically rigorous, capital-disciplined approach to mine development, with a strong emphasis on environmental stewardship, operational safety, and community engagement.

The Spring Valley Gold Project is located in the prolific Humboldt Range, an area with approximately 60 million ounces of gold endowment within a 50-mile radius. Envisioned as a long-life, low-cost open-pit, heap-leach operation, Spring Valley has a robust resource base and considerable exploration upside along a 7-mile strike length across the Black Ridge fault zone.

With a leadership team experienced in engineering, permitting, and large-scale project execution, Solidus Resources is advancing Spring Valley through feasibility, permitting, and construction, with a clear path toward operational readiness. The company’s goal is to responsibly unlock the value of U.S.-based gold assets while building a reputation for excellence in project delivery and sustainable development.
This position is located on-site at our mine in Lovelock, NV.

The Mine Engineer provides technical engineering support for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of an open-pit gold mine. This role supports mine planning, production scheduling, drill-and-blast design, ore control, geotechnical monitoring, and operational performance analysis. Working closely with Operations, Geology, Survey, Processing, Maintenance, and Environmental teams, the Mine Engineer develops practical mine plans, monitors mining performance, and identifies opportunities to improve safety, productivity, cost, and gold recovery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across departments to achieve production, safety, environmental, and business objectives.
Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of engineering experience in open-pit mining, preferably gold.
  • Experience with mine planning, scheduling, design, drill-and-blast, and ore control.
  • Proficiency with Vulcan, MineSight, Deswik, or similar mine-planning software.
  • Knowledge of open-pit mining methods, material movement, grade control, and stockpile management.
  • Experience with geotechnical monitoring and slope management is an asset.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production reporting tools.
  • Ability to perform regular fieldwork in an active mine environment.
