Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is seeking a Mine Engineer in Forbes, MN to provide engineering, planning, design support and leadership to mining operations and mineral projects.

The role drives optimum mine development, ore reserve reporting, and mining-related capital projects. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Mine Engineering or related field and at least 10 years of experience in mine engineering and operations, including leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Direct, coordinate, and participate on mine planning activities and procedures to meet established plans, budgets, and targets of performance for Mine Engineering sections, and in accordance with Cliffs' policies and SEC rules.
• Lead in mine engineering, and mine design contributions, to Cliffs' business development initiatives.
• Lead in economic mineral evaluations, involving procedures of mine engineering, mine designs, economic mineral analysis.
• Develop standards of essential planning activities of and for the Mine Engineering sections and install best practices.
• Conduct audits on Mine Engineering activities to ensure compliance to Cliffs' Mine Planning Standards.
• Facilitates reviews of the methodologies used to develop mine plans and economic models.
• Coordinate as a functional interface between mine engineering and operations for execution and monitoring of mine plans.
• Identify and facilitate continuous development of the Mine Engineering resources through training, mentoring, open communication, and experience.
• Facilitate geology and metallurgical investigations with the intention of identifying geological drivers of metallurgical performance, control indicators, and long range development requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mine Engineering or related field.
• A minimum of 10 years' experience in Mine Engineering and Operations, with experience in leadership and management roles.

The salary range for this role is $80,000-110,000,000. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors, including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
