Job description

The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada’s largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit. Greenstone Gold Mines LP is owned by Equinox Gold Corp, a Vancouver-based mining company with five operating mines in Canada, the United States, Mexico and Nicaragua.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Mine Operations Dispatcher to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Operations Superintendent, the Mine Operations Dispatcher is responsible for safely dispatching the mining fleet to achieve daily deliverables based on the mining plan. As the primary point of contact for operators and the maintenance team, as well as monitoring key performance indicators, the dispatcher will provide ongoing support to the Production Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advocate for company safety values and protocols through positive leadership.
  • Ensure crew compliance with legislation and operating standards.
  • Actively monitor key performance indicators & capture data.
  • Validate delays and down codes based on time usage model.
  • Monitor fleet utilization. Advise Production Supervisors on improvements.
  • Plan and execute the continuous operation of the haul fleet by managing operator breaks.
  • Support the Production Supervisors to achieve targets set out in the daily plan.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Manipulate schedules to ensure mine and maintenance plans are followed.
  • Coordinate and prioritize equipment repairs with the maintenance team.
  • Monitor schedules and advise Production supervisors of gaps.
  • Populate daily reports, for supervisors, GFs, and Superintendent.
  • Monitor equipment used against targets and adjust.
  • Monitor crusher feed and adjust fleet destinations to optimize throughput.
Required Experience and Skill Set
  • Advanced knowledge/expertise in CAT MineStar.
  • 8+ years of open pit mining experience.
