About the right team member

We're looking for a Senior UX Researcher for the Mindbody Core Business Experience. You will be responsible for developing research programs, defining problem statements, communicating novel insights from mixed-methods research you conduct, developing and steering strategic research roadmaps, and collaborating with the Product Management and Product Design teams to define what to build and how to build it.

We are at a pivotal moment at Mindbody where we are shifting the research culture to drive foundational research that helps define product roadmaps. UX Researchers at Mindbody develop a strong understanding of the products and business while balancing user needs to drive the business forward, creating usable, useful, and delightful experiences for our small, medium, and franchise businesses worldwide.

This role will be based out of the US, reporting to a local Head of Research.

About the role
  1. Be a proactive member of a cross-functional product team by identifying research opportunities that inform product and design strategy, scoping research roadmaps, gaining cross-functional buy-in, and clearly communicating your approach while executing collaboratively.
  2. Have a clear understanding of how various research functions and data sources (e.g., market research, product marketing, analytics, etc.) contribute to the product development lifecycle, and how to integrate them into the research roadmaps you develop.
  3. Present compelling insights and recommendations to multiple teams and leaders across the organization that drive customer-centric decisions.
  4. Lead workshops and design sprints by surfacing relevant insights, proposing research roadmaps, and informing the evolution of our product and design strategy.
  5. Develop a good understanding of the business and products you do research on to prioritize, define, and influence OKRs and what to build next.
  6. Contribute to elevating the craft and impact of the research team by mentoring junior members and guiding product and design teams to conduct research within scope.
Skills & experience
  • You have a Bachelor's degree AND 5+ years experience as a mixed methods user experience researcher with demonstrated experience in research approaches such as card sorts, tree tests, diary studies, jobs-to-be-done, surveys, in-depth interviews, usability testing, and concept evaluations.
  • You have an advanced degree in Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction OR equivalent work experience AND 3-4+ years of experience as a mixed methods researcher.
  • Strong storytelling and presentation skills tailored to diverse audiences, including Product, Design, Engineering, and leadership.
  • Proven track record of delivering research insights that influence product strategies and business outcomes.
  • Experience with digital products, especially in B2B, Wellness Tech, or AI/ML domains, is advantageous.
  • Experience with research tools like Lookback, UserTesting, Dscout, Alchemer, SQL, R, Python, or similar, with adaptability to new tools as needed.
