Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries in Eugene, Oregon, seeks a qualified Millwright / Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair mechanical parts and machinery at our sawmill. You will troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair machines, work with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, fabricate replacement parts, and operate arc welders and forklifts.

Qualifications

• 2 years of verifiable maintenance or millwright experience.
• Proficient welding, cutting, and using hand tools.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and bearings.
• Able to diagnose mechanical defects and report them.
• Industrial mill maintenance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility.
• Troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair machines and equipment including hydraulic, pneumatic systems.
• Dismantle machinery, locate faults, replace parts or fabricate replacements.
• Fabricate machine components for repairs and improvements of mechanical devices.
• Operate arc welder, cutting torch, hand tools, forklift, and welding truck.
• Perform general maintenance safely and keep the work area clean.
• Work may include varying shifts and overtime during busy production times.
