Job Title: Millwright/Maintenance Technician – Union Point, GA

Location: Union Point, GA 30669

Job Summary

The Millwright/Maintenance Technician will undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition and functionality of premises. A Millwright/Maintenance Technician is a thorough professional with a practical mind and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines. The goal is to maintain the operations of the mill and keep the plant in the best possible condition. The Millwright/Maintenance Technician reports to the Plant Manager.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Ensures proper operation of motors, controls, electrical, sensors, photo eyes, limit switches, hydraulic components, assembly line machinery, and machinist tools, etc.
  • Utilizing diagrams, schematics, sketches, operations manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications to maintain and properly fix machinery issues.
  • Lubricating equipment as needed, as well as identifying and communicating opportunities to improve the lube program through improved techniques, technology, and knowledge sharing.
  • Adhering to all safety, health, and plant rules, policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Equipment failures & deficiencies are recorded through downtime event entries (kept at each machine site) to schedule the required corrective actions.
  • Ensure Basic Operator Care is performed as trained to improve equipment uptime.
  • Implement and track daily production schedule and maximize mill output.
  • Follow up quality checks on each machine center.
  • Maintain daily production records.
  • Monitor mill cleanliness and emergency response readiness.
  • Schedule maintenance of equipment.
  • Perform a daily walk through at end of day to verify shut down procedures that have been adhered to properly.
HSE Expectations
  • Zero safety and environmental violations.
  • Non-compliant behaviors are reported to the appropriate person so that improvements can be made. (Stop, Think and Ask).
  • Safety hazards are addressed before they can cause injury to me or my co-workers.
  • Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) incidents are reported immediately.
  • Actively participate in safety meetings and other site programs.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Thorough and broad understanding of a variety of equipment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of safety practices, guidelines, rules and laws.
Preferred Skills
  • High school diploma, vocational school or Associate’s degree in related field highly preferred.
  • Welding and mechanical capabilities.
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
  • Electrical and computer capabilities to help with the electrical controls and PLCs.
Education and Experience
  • At least one year of experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Working in hot and cold temperatures, the facility is not climate controlled.
  • Walking on smooth and uneven surfaces.
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
  • Bending and lifting materials from ground level, not to exceed 50 lbs. without assistance from co-workers.
