Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking an experienced Millwright in Houston, TX to plan, layout, install and align equipment according to plans and specs. You will work with electrical and mechanical tools, supervise foundations, and coordinate with crane operators to place machinery.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong technical skills, and the ability to read instructions and work outdoors in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with experience in the field or related area.
• Strong working knowledge and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
• Proficient in safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools and layout tools as well as measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, diagram and lay-out for millwright’s work.
• Use hand and power tools to measure, cut, assemble and align machinery and install items.
• Review inventory of equipment/machine components; prepare foundation for grouting and machinery placement; set elevations and align components.
• Torque equipment, rig machinery and direct crane operators; test and adjust as needed.
• Dismantle machines; move machinery using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks.
• Assemble and install equipment; align machines using hoists, jacks and instruments; anchor to foundations or structures.
• Estimate sizes, distances and quantities; determine time, costs, resources or materials needed.
• Inspect subordinate’s work for contract compliance and address deficiencies.
