Job summary

WorleyParsons seeks an experienced install technician to read blueprints and install machinery per layout plans, using cranes, hand tools and power tools. You will dismantle, align and secure equipment, and perform basic testing to ensure proper operation.

With at least four years in industrial construction or maintenance, you know bearings, seals, pumps and gearboxes, and you can read drawings and interpret specifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years industrial construction/maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of bearings, seals, pumps, gearboxes and related mechanical systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret layouts for installation.
• Familiarity with alignment, bolting and basic welding or fabrication skills.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets blueprints, layout plans and manuals to determine work procedures.
• Dismantles machines using hand tools and equipment.
• Moves machinery and equipment with hoists, dollies and rollers.
• Assembles and installs equipment, such as conveyors, using cranes and tools.
• Constructs foundations for machines using building materials.

• Loads, transports and unloads materials, tools and supplies.

Position Summary

• Installs machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints and other drawings in establishments.

Primary Responsibilities

Reads and interprets blueprints, layout plans, vendor installation and operation manuals, and other schematic drawings to determine work procedures.

Dismantles machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other hand tools.

Moves machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks.

Assembles and installs equipment, such as shaffing, conveyors and tram rails, using cranes, hand tools and power tools.

Constructs foundation for machines using hand tools and building materials, such as wood, cement and steel.

Aligns machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers and plumb bobs.

Must have knowledge of optical and laser alignments.

Assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures using hand tools and power tools.

May operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.

May install robot and modify its program using teach pendant.

May use transit and level for equipment setting.

Loads, transports and unloads materials, tools, equipment and supplies.

Performs lubricating maintenance, cleaning activities, or repair of tools, machines, and equipment.

Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules.

• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years industrial construction/maintenance industry experience
• Knowledge of reverse alignment (where required), different types of metals, different types of bearings, mechanical seals, tandem seals, compression packing, multi-stage pumps, vertical pumps, different types of drive coupling, cooling tower fan units, gearboxes and agitators, gas turbines (where applicable) steam turbines, centrifugal compressor, reciprocal compressor, machine shop equipment, hydraulic reading and IRD reading
