Job summary

West Fraser is seeking a skilled Millwright to repair and maintain industrial equipment and major machine centers at our site. The role requires reading drawings, understanding preventive maintenance, and working safely in high-pressure situations.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of verifiable Millwright experience, welding and torch-cutting skills preferred, and the ability to pass assessments and background checks. We value internal promotion and comprehensive benefits at West Fraser.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years verifiable Millwright experience.
• Welding experience preferred and cutting torch experience valued.
• Must be able to read drawings and follow printed instructions.
• Ability to work safely, independently, and under high-pressure situations.
• Must pass assessments, drug screen, physical, and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain industrial equipment conveying systems and major machine centers.
• Read and interpret drawings and printed instructions.
• Work safely as a self-starter in high-pressure environments.
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
• Align process equipment and manage rigging/material handling when needed.
• Document work thoroughly and communicate clearly.

What You Will Do

• Repair and maintain industrial equipment conveying systems, and major machine centers.
• Able to read and understand drawings and printed instructions.
• Must be a self-starter who can work safely under high-pressure situations.
• Understanding of preventive maintenance
• Hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical troubleshooting
• Good communication and documentation skills
• Safe work habits
• Use of hand and power tools
• Operation of shop and maintenance related equipment
• Understanding proper alignments of process equipment
• Knowledge of rigging and material handling

What You Will Need

• Must have High School Diploma or GED
• Must have minimum 3 years verifiable work experience as a Millwright preferred.
• Must have welding experience preferred.
• Must have cutting Torch experience (Oxygen/Acetylene) preferred.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts.
• Must successfully complete a skills assessment, pre-employment drug screen, physical, reference check, and background check.
