Job description

The Scruggs Company is seeking a full time Milling Machine Operator. We are a heavy civil contractor working in the commercial site work, public infrastructure and asphalt markets in the Cochran area. Pay will be commensurate with experience; all employees are eligible for benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance. All candidates must have a valid driver's license with positive driving history.

  • Perform all duties within the guidelines set forth in the Employee Policies and Procedures Manual.
  • Create an atmosphere whereby all subordinates are encouraged to improve their skills and maintain a high level of moral for themselves and other employees.
  • Use equipment in a safe and proper manner, improving job performance, controlling cost, improving quality of work, increasing productivity, and have good communication skills.
  • Participate in the periodic evaluation.
  • Develop a cooperative working relationship with all crew employees.
  • Ensure all work undertaken complies with all local laws and ordinances concerning construction and related activities.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with the general public, customers to facilitate job progress and promote a positive company image.
  • Write, maintain, and turn in all required daily reports. Verify their correctness and transmit them promptly to the Foreman.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in milling, operations and procedures, and does not have to be heavy civil
