Job summary

Valley View Milling Llc is seeking a Mill Assistant to support daily mill operations, equipment setup, and material handling. The role involves assisting with loading, unloading, monitoring, and basic maintenance while ensuring product quality and safety standards are met.

The position requires the ability to lift 50 lbs, learn forklift operation, and work in a dusty, noisy environment. Flexibility for shifts, overtime, and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in a mill, manufacturing, or agricultural setting is a plus.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and other machinery safely.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Willingness to work in a dusty, noisy, and fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed.
• Standing, bending, lifting, and walking throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Operate milling equipment and machinery under supervision.
• Load and unload materials using forklifts, conveyors, or manual labor.
• Monitor equipment and report malfunctions or irregularities.
• Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of mill equipment and areas.
• Set up hand adds for diets and load stations; unload inbound ingredients.
• Weigh, label, and record product quantities and lot numbers.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies to prevent accidents.
• Assist with inventory counts and storage of materials.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Communicate production needs with operators and supervisors.
• Assist in sanitation and general upkeep of the facility.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
