Job summary

Greif, a global leader in packaging, invites applications for a Mill Manager at our paper mill in the United States. You will develop and execute operational strategies to optimize profit and customer relations while ensuring regulatory compliance and safe operations.

You will lead daily operations, drive continuous improvement of the Greif Production System, manage budgets, coordinate with sales, finance, HR, and sourcing, and foster strong teams to meet financial and service targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent education and experience.
• Master’s degree preferred for advanced leadership roles.
• 7+ years paper mill experience with strong production background.
• Strong leadership, budgeting, and safety compliance responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operating strategies to meet financial, operating, quality, service and safety objectives.
• Develops strategies for meeting customer, business and community opportunities.
• Leads implementation and continuous improvement of the Greif Production System.
• Monitors operating effectiveness and provides feedback to optimize performance and income.
• Manages site budgets and collaborates with sales, finance, HR, transportation and global sourcing.
• Promotes safety observances and ensures PPE usage and safe daily practices.

Job Description:

Summary: Develop and execute operational strategies to optimize operating profit and customer relationships while complying with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements. Provide organizational leadership and management support to achieve site and business unit goals and objectives. Responsible for the overall management of a paper mill facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversees daily operating strategies with emphasis on meeting financial, operating, quality, service and safety objectives. Ensures mill operates at peak production.
• Develops strategies for meeting customer, business and community opportunities.
• Overall responsibility for the implementation and continuous improvement of the Greif Production System.
• Monitors operating effectiveness and provides feedback as necessary to optimize performance and operating income.
• Performs business/financial reviews and modifies plans to achieve objectives/targets.
• Promotes strong customer relationships and ensures service levels are consistently achieved.
• Provides technical support for process/planning issues as well as capital project/plan development.
• Provides direction and organizational leadership to clearly communicate goals and objectives for financial and regulatory performance requirements.
• Develops and monitors site budgets to support profitability targets/plans.
• Manage company business working with sales, finance, HR, corporate transportation and global sourcing.
• Incorporates and maintains safety observances, including but not limited to, use of all PPE by employees, ensuring guards and safety features are working, and promoting good daily safety practices and habits.
• Communicates goals and objectives, applies company policy, staffs, trains, coaches, recommends salary increases, administers discipline, insures positive employee relations and reviews the performance of employees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience :

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent education and experience; Master’s Degree preferred.
• 7 plus years paper mill experience

Knowledge and Skills :

• Oral and written communication skills, leadership and supervisory skills, organizational skills, detailed knowledge of pulping chemistry and paper physics, and basic knowledge of budgeting and cost control.

Compensation Range:

The pay range for this position is $146,200.00 - $248,900.00 annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between175,000.00 to195,000.00 annually. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
