Job summary

Moog Inc. is seeking a Mill Machinist II for the 2nd shift in Buffalo, NY. You will operate vertical mills and tracer-type milling machines to produce high-precision flight control components for commercial aircraft.

  • Interpret drawings, occasionally work without operation sheets, and make difficult layouts.
  • Inspect all work performed and detect unusual conditions, defective materials, and defective parts using different inspection equipment and processes.

At Moog's Commercial Aircraft Group, skilled machinists play a vital role in shaping the future of flight. Using advanced machining techniques and precision manufacturing processes, you will produce critical components for flight control systems used on the world's leading commercial airliners and business jets. Your craftsmanship and attention to detail will help ensure the quality, reliability, and performance our customers depend on throughout the life of their aircraft.

Currently, we are seeking a skilled Mill machinist who takes pride in precision craftsmanship and wants to see their work contribute to some of the world's most advanced programs. In this role, you'll manufacture complex, high‑precision components used in flight‑critical systems where quality, reliability, and performance are non‑negotiable.

Sign‑On Bonus

This position is eligible for a $3,500 sign‑on bonus. To qualify, candidates must submit their application between July 20, 2026, and September 11, 2026, and is subject to the terms of the bonus agreement.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED preferred. Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • In accordance with strict Federal Aviation Agency (F.A.A.) regulations regarding Safety Sensitive Work (S.S.W.), employee enrollment & participation in the company’s "F.A.A. Drug & Alcohol Program" is a requirement for this position.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a precision machinist in a machine shop setting.
As a Mill Machinist II, You Will
  • Perform a complete range of milling operations on all types of material using vertical mills and tracer‑type milling machines.
  • Set up and operate a vertical mill.
  • Make all set‑ups using specified equipment.
  • Occasionally develop new methods and machining techniques.
  • Interpret drawings, occasionally work without operation sheets, and make difficult layouts.
  • Need to work, at times, with minimum guidance.
  • Inspect all work performed and detect unusual conditions, defective materials, and defective parts using different inspection equipment and processes.

Salary Range

Buffalo, NY $28.00–$32.00 Hourly

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
