Purpose and Scope of Position:
The Mill Generalist at Wheat Montana Mill plays a key role in the production of flour, cereal, grain, and milled products. This position ensures product quality, operational efficiency, and compliance with safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Handle raw materials, including unloading, storage, and transfer of grains.
- Operate milling machinery to process grains into finished products.
- Monitor product quality to ensure consistency and purity.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and report malfunctions.
- Package finished products securely to maintain freshness.
- Manage waste disposal in compliance with environmental standards.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Track inventory levels for raw materials and finished goods.
- Collaborate with team members and assist in various mill operations.
Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently.
- Effective collaborator with diverse team members, and willingness to learn and acclimate to evolving bakery techniques.
- Ability to proficiently communicate in English, orally and in writing, to effectively communicate with diverse team members and leadership.
- Acute attention to detail, especially when adhering to recipes and evaluating product quality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, operate bakery machinery, and lift items.
- Basic math skills for measuring and weighing materials.
- Reliable, punctual, and adaptable team player.
- Physical capability to lift to 50 lbs. and operate heavy machinery in a loud, dusty, and hot environment.

- Allergen Management & Sanitation Procedures
- Pest Control & Recall Systems
- Personal Hygiene & Handwashing Protocols
Experience and Education Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age to work around noisy and hot equipment and afternoon and evening shifts, if applicable.
- Must be fluent in English as a primary or secondary language to effectively communicate with leadership and other team members.
- 0-2 years’ experience in production environments, familiarity with production processes preferred.
