Job summary

Magellan Health seeks a Military & Family Life Counselor - Child Development Center to provide CYB counseling at military installations to support children and families of service members. The role includes direct counseling, staff training, and collaboration with installation POC to address behavioral health needs.

Responsibilities include data entry, development of action plans, and linkage to resources, while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree from an accredited graduate program in a mental health related field.
• Current unrestricted independent counseling license relevant to state/DC/US territory.
• Less than 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience.
• Ability to engage and communicate with military members or children to accomplish job functions.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-medical, short-term, solution-focused counseling to eligible children and youth.
• Enter counselor activity data daily via smart phone or web application.
• Provide parent support, staff training, and guidance to CDCs, youth programs, and camps.
• Deliver training and health/wellness presentations and participate in health fairs on base.
• Collaborate with installation POC and other stakeholders to meet installation needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with reporting protocols as required.
