Qualifications

• ALL LEVELS: Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent; must communicate effectively in English.
• TARGET LEVEL: 12 months of experience in a childcare or youth program and knowledge in theories/principles of child/youth development.
• INTERMEDIATE LEVEL: Six months of experience in a group program with children/youth and related training requirements.
• ENTRY LEVEL: This is an entry level position; no previous experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care/supervision and ensure the safety of children and youth in one or more programs.
• Assist in preparing age-appropriate activities; supervise indoors/outdoors, field trips and special events.
• Transport children in government vehicles if required.
• Plan, coordinate and conduct activities appropriate to the age group for Target/Intermediate levels.
